Dunluce Cycling Route is approximately 12 miles long and forms part of a large route that extends through out Northern Ireland. The Dunluce route begins in Portstewart following the NCN 93 route and proceeds to finish at the Giant Causeway, covering areas of outstandingly beautiful scenery and coastal paths with sections of the route on paths free from all traffic.
Cyclists leaving Portstewart should follow the coastal path to Portrush which runs alongside the main road. With a separate cycle lane, you are able to enjoy the view of the ocean from the busy road. This section is safe for all users that use the lane correctly.
After your arrival to the seaside resort o Portrush, cyclists can follow the road to Bushmills, passing the outstandingly beautiful Dunluce Castle. This path can be very busy with traffic during summer months and has a narrow section for children to cycle along.
Before reaching Bushmills, follow signs for Portballintrae where the cycle path is accessible after passing the Bushfoot golf course which leads to the Giants Causeway, following alongside the railway line of Bushmills steam train
