Sarah Travers meets Fergie!

The members of BallyscullionChurchin Bellaghy have teamed up with the Mid Ulster Branch of Autism N.I. for a unique fundraising exercise whereby John Junkin, a member of both groups, will float a tractor from Toomebridge to Coleraine.  Just how they’ll manage to float “Fergie” - as the tractor is affectionately known – is a mystery but all will be revealed when the BBC’s Sarah Travers joins the Mayor of Antrim for the launch at Toomebridge @ 10.00amon Saturday 1st August. From here John and Fergie will travel to Portglenone where the Wild Duck Restaurant has the honours of laying on a charity barbeque complete with childrens entertainment.

“Fergie” then rests up – or in the circumstances maybe “rusts up” is more appropriate at Portna and then continues on his way from Kilrea at8.30amon Monday eventually completing the journey at Coleraine Marina.

Monies raised by this venture will go towards Autism N.I. Mid UlsterBranch for Social Skills Training and BallyscullionChurchfor much needed roof repairs.
