The Portstewart Community Association Red Sails Festival 2012, in conjunction with Coleraine Borough Council includes a week long series of entertainment and children's competitions, most of which is outdoors at the Crescent seafront venue and is mostly free. Included this year are fancy dress, karaoke, battle of the bands, sandcastle,pavement art,its' a knockout, fishing, and golf competitions.At time of press some of the planned entertainment for this year includes wrestling, street theatre, Black Rose ( Thin Lizzy tribute band ), the Willie Drennan Ulster Folk band, Fil Campbell ( inc tribute to Bridie Gallagher), plus local bands the Groove Robbers, Dark Horse, Happy Shrapnel and Whiskey In the Jar. Also included will dancing displays from Rio Salsa and the Banshees Irish Dancers. In addition to all the entertainment the final day includes many stalls, plus a craft and collectable fair The festival concludes with a spectacular fireworks display organized by C.B.C.
